Trading desk with a crude oil ladder ticket crossed out, green equity close stubs, and a soft Michigan 48.1 card; Diamond Head only in the soft background.

Ladder Left Behind. Cash Went Green. Michigan Soft.

Prep asked oil continuation only at the overnight ladder. Cash printed lower on the CL tickets while equities closed green into the weekend. Final Michigan soft at 48.1 — separate the oil miss from the green cash.

Friday, September 25, 2026

Morning Prep framed Soft Claims held, oil maps split across timeframes, NQ still through the weekly expected-move high, durables already flat on the headline with firm core capex, and final Michigan still ahead — with oil continuation only if price was still interacting with Thursday’s overnight ladder at CL h1 95.88 / Daily 94.83. Cash left that ladder. Spotter’s cash CL h1s printed bullish 92.97 then bullish 91.57. Equities closed green into the weekend. The S&P closed 7,743.41 (+0.5%). The Dow closed 51,828.62 (+0.9%). The Nasdaq finished 27,068.72 (+0.5%). The Russell finished 2,837.55 (+0.1%). Final Michigan printed 48.1 — a four-month low — with year-ahead inflation expectations at 4.6%. Path still inherits 3.75%–4.00%.

Thursday’s prior close was flat whip under soft Claims, a 10-year at 5.20%, and an oil ladder that kept printing higher into Brent $100.22. Friday’s cash open-to-close was green under cooled crude and a soft final Michigan. Keep those as two sentences. Soft Claims Thursday did not authorize chasing the oil ladder you missed — and a green Friday does not rewrite a ladder miss into a makeup ticket.

RTH Market Prep was the day clock, not a forecast. Friday’s job was to mark what Globex already spent on the new Thursday-anchored daily field — and what the week already spent on the Friday weekly field for NQ — write size against what was left, and keep sealed path separate from a durables print that already landed and a final sentiment print. Cash greened the week. Oil did not re-interact with 95.88 / 94.83. That is the honest split.

This note does not rewrite Week Ahead, September 21–25. Friday’s RTH Market Prep had Soft Claims held / oil maps split / week still through. Thursday’s After the Close locked
