Morning Prep framed a soft Wednesday under a hot Flash PMI, a new Wednesday-anchored daily map with overnight probing through the daily expected-move low then back inside on ES and NQ, the Friday weekly field still through the weekly expected-move high on NQ, Claims and new-home sales as the clean labor and housing clocks, Japan cash resuming after Silver Week, and crude inside the daily expected move after Wednesday’s reclaim. Cash answered flat and whippy. The S&P closed 7,704.13 (−1.90 / less than 0.1%). The Dow closed 51,349.98 (−0.3%). The Nasdaq finished 26,939.37 (+3.34 / less than 0.1%). The Russell finished 2,835.57 (−0.1%). Claims printed 197,000 versus a 201,000 forecast. The 10-year jumped to 5.20%. Brent settled $100.22 (+2.1%). Path still inherits 3.75%–4.00%.
Wednesday’s prior close was soft cash under a five-year-high Flash print, a 10-year at 5.11%, and oil’s soft Prep map failing as Brent November reclaimed above $100. Thursday’s cash open-to-close was the flat whip under another yield push and an oil ladder that kept printing higher. Keep those as two sentences. Soft Wednesday did not authorize a chase reopen into Claims.
RTH Market Prep was the day clock, not a forecast. Thursday’s job was to mark what Globex already spent on the new Wednesday-anchored daily field — and what the week already spent on the Friday weekly field for NQ — write size against what was left, and keep sealed path separate from Claims plumbing and a Census housing print. Cash did not validate a chase day after a spent weekly band. The soft Claims print and the 5.20% 10-year were the honest clocks.
This note does not rewrite Week Ahead, September 21–25. Thursday’s RTH Market Prep had the soft-after-Flash handoff, Claims open, and weekly still through. [Wednesday’s After
