The lids held. From Sunday's Globex reopen to Monday's 4:00 p.m. ET close, PonoTrading's imbalance board sent 30 hourly setups to Discord, zero Daily, and zero Weekly. MedianReclaim added 17 Daily median tags. Six of the 30 were on the index board, and five of those came before New York opened. The two ES hourly bears at 7883–7885 and the RTY hourly bear at 2830.6 marked the top of the day. After London, ES never traded above 7,884 and RTY never above 2,831.20. The NQ hourly bull at 31139.75 failed, and NQ never got back over 31,183. The YM hourly bear at 52105 was the one that broke. YM ran through it in the first five minutes of cash. Only 4 of the 30 came in New York cash, and one was on the index board: a new YM hourly bear at 52160 at 10:33 a.m. ET. YM topped at 52,182 minutes later and never traded higher.
The tape around those prints split down the middle. The Dow rose 195.60 points, or 0.4%, to 51,850.55. The S&P 500 slipped 4.30 points, or 0.1%, to 7,807.24. The Nasdaq fell 120.27 points, or 0.4%, to 27,245.90 as chip stocks slid, and the Russell 2000 lost 12.50 points, or 0.4%, to 2,794.48. Oil went the other way. WTI settled up $1.89 at $93.74 and Brent up $1.93 at $106.65 after weekend Houthi strikes on Saudi Arabia. The bond market was closed for Columbus Day, so none of it had a cash Treasury tape under it.
