Morning Prep framed Core Soft / Cash Soft / NFP Ahead after Soft Core PCE printed — BEA Core +0.2% m/m / +3.0% y/y; headline +0.3% / +3.4% — with Soft Claims still Thursday wire only and Friday NFP still the bookend. Cash voted mixed. The S&P closed 7,651.54 (−0.3%). The Dow closed 50,906.05 (−0.9%). The Nasdaq finished 26,861.06 (+0.2%). The Russell finished 2,796.86 (−0.4%). Soft Core PCE bought a morning bounce — then stronger spring growth kept the long end busy and erased most of that green. AP put the 10-year as low as 5.20% in the morning before it climbed back to 5.29%. Spotter’s first-hour 10Y h1 printed bearish 5.258 after an into-open bullish 5.208. Brent climbed 1.9% to $98.03. Spotter armed a YM Daily and Weekly gem at 51443, a cash YM bullish 51539, RTY cash bulls 2827.6 then late 2818.3, and a gold cash bullish 4181.2 against resting Daily 4163.8 / Weekly 4180.2. Path still inherits 3.75%–4.00%.
Soft Core PCE printed. That is one clock. A hard long end that climbed back toward multi-decade highs is another. Mixed cash — Dow soft, Nasdaq green, S&P soft — is the equity vote. Keep those as three sentences. A soft inflation print does not authorize inventing chase size into Soft Claims or NFP off what the morning hoped.
RTH Market Prep was the day clock, not a forecast. Wednesday’s job was to mark what Core PCE actually printed, write size against what Spotter put on the board, and keep sealed path separate from a soft-everything rewrite. Soft Core printed. Yields stayed hard. Cash mixed. That is the honest split.
Week Ahead for September 28 – October 2 stays HOLD on the desk (Soft Claims Thursday + Fri NFP bookend) —
