After the Close Sept. 2: Nasdaq Wick 29,201 — Close Still Under

Wednesday was a bounce day, not a repair. Equities closed green, but Nasdaq futures only wicked 29,201 and settled back under it. WTI failed Wednesday's +1SD near 92.54. See what Asia and London inherit into Thursday.

Morning Pulse was a location: Nasdaq still under 29,201.26, Tuesday's accepted break of Monday's daily -1SD, and crude still through Tuesday's 87.78 inside 87.90-92.54. Asia had already sold the handoff. London gilts had printed a fresh high. ADP +38,000 versus 47,000 expected was a hiring slowdown, not a Nasdaq repair kit.

That is what New York inherited.

Equities Closed Green. That Is Not the Whole Story.

The cash session from the open was a bounce day. Equities closed green. They also finished above Tuesday. Those are two different sentences. Use both.

S&P 500 cash 7,666.60, +0.46%, open 7,634.58. Dow 53,061.95, +0.56%, open 52,829.58. Nasdaq-100 29,143.33, +0.23% versus 29,077.22 — opened 29,016, then bought the session. Russell 2000 2,953.17, +1.13%, the leader. VIX 15.20 versus Tuesday 16.34. Scoreboard supports the read. It is not the post.

Futures last into the cash-close window (Globex last, not CME 3:00 CT settlement): ES 7,669.25 versus Tuesday 7,642.75, session low 7,618.50 — the overnight probe Pulse already named. NQ 29,141 versus 29,125.50, high 29,213, low 28,927.25. YM last 53,136 versus 52,828. RTY last 2,958 versus 2,924.70.

Nasdaq Still Under 29,201

Nasdaq did not reclaim 29,201. Cash never printed it (NDX high 29,165.62). Futures wicked 29,213 and last 29,141. A wick is not acceptance. Pulse's line is still the line.

Daily 1SD from Tuesday: ES stayed inside 7,577-7,708. NQ stayed inside 28,791-29,460 — 29,201 is not today's -1SD. YM high 53,283 tagged 53,280. RTY closed through 2,949.71.

Oil and Yields Were the Mechanic

Oil and yields were the mechanic. WTI settled $91.01, then last 90.63; high 92.29 failed Wednesday's +1SD 92.54; low 88.97 held through Tuesday's 87.78. Ten-year tagged 4.818%, then eased enough that the equity bid could exist. Overnight liquidity probe (Asia sold, ES 7,618.50, NQ 28,927) that New York
