Morning Prep framed Soft Claims / Hard Yield / NFP Ahead after Soft Claims printed soft on the DOL wire — initial 197,000, prior revised 198,000, below ~201k — with Soft Claims still wire only and Friday NFP still the bookend. Soft Core PCE from Wednesday (+0.2% / +3.0%) stayed on the board. Cash voted modest green. The S&P closed 7,666.45 (+0.2%) and broke a three-day losing streak. The Dow closed 50,926.56 (less than +0.1%). The Nasdaq finished 26,871.60 (less than +0.1%). The Russell finished 2,806.63 (+0.3%). Yields ran first — AP had the 10-year briefly near 5.34% after ISM — then gave the move back toward 5.24% from 5.29% late Wednesday. Reuters put the reverse further after Fed Vice Chair Philip Jefferson’s patient-before-the-next-hike color. Brent jumped after China suspended fuel exports — Reuters: settled up more than $4 / nearly 5%; AP mid-session had $101.13 (+3.2%). Spotter armed one clean NY first-hour NQ print at 30606 bull, mid-cash SI 60.915 / ZN 104.453125 / HG 6.545, then late SI bear 61.21 and MBT bull 84990. No cash Daily. No cash Weekly. Path still inherits 3.75%–4.00%.
Soft Claims printed soft. That is one clock — wire only, never UW SENT. A long end that ran to a multi-decade high and then flipped is another. Modest green cash is the equity vote. Keep those as three sentences. A soft Claims print does not authorize inventing chase size into Friday NFP off what the morning hoped.
RTH Market Prep was the day clock, not a forecast. Thursday’s job was to mark what Soft Claims actually printed, write size against what Spotter put on the board, and keep sealed path separate from a soft-everything rewrite. Soft Claims soft. Yields flipped. Cash modest green. That
