Black lava-rock ledges on a Hawaii sea cliff break away into heavy surf one after another at sunset, while a single brass lantern glows on the last ledge still holding, Diamond Head in the distance.

Weekend Review | October 12–16, 2026

From Sunday's Globex open to Friday's close, PonoTrading's imbalance board sent 180 UW taps to Discord: 159 hourly, 14 Daily and 7 Weekly. MedianReclaim added 143 Daily/Weekly median tags. Seventeen of the UW taps were on Nasdaq futures, and 14 of those were buy levels. Thirteen of the 14 broke. The one that held printed at 3:06 p.m. ET Friday, less than an hour before the close. The receipts that paid were two sell levels the board put on NQ and RTY Wednesday morning, before CPI. Once those levels turned price, neither contract got back above them for the rest of the week.

That's the week. The S&P 500 fell 1.9% to 7,659.44, which gave back everything it gained the week before, when it set a record. The Nasdaq lost 4.5% to 26,140.03. For both, it was the worst week since June. The Russell 2000 fell 3% to 2,721.37. The Dow went the other way, up 0.7% to 52,002.41. Core CPI came in hot Wednesday, PPI came in hot Thursday, Friday was monthly options expiration, and chip stocks led the selling. And the 10-year yield fell, from 5.24% to about 5.09%. Bonds caught a bid and tech still couldn't find one.
