Overnight Bid Into +1SD. Positioning Day Into the Vote.
Overnight bid into the upper half of daily 1SD after Monday’s soft cash close. ES and NQ session highs briefly tagged through +1SD. Empire already printed 7.6. 6-week and 20-year auctions today. Wednesday still owns the week.
Tuesday, September 15, 2026
Cash closed soft on Monday versus Friday’s green relief. Into this Hawaii window the new daily map — anchored to Monday’s settle — already shows overnight bid into the upper half of daily 1SD, with ES and NQ session highs briefly tagging through +1SD on the house board. Empire already printed modest at 7.6. Treasury auctions the 6-week this morning and the 20-year into the afternoon. FOMC day one. Wednesday still owns the week.
RTH Market Prep is the day clock, not a forecast. Tuesday’s job is not to invent a thesis for the rate decision. It is to mark what Globex already spent on the new map, write size against what is left, treat Empire as a done positioning print — not a second inflation print — respect the auction clocks, and leave Wednesday’s statement on Wednesday’s card. Weekend Review left the operating rule on the desk: wait for the location, set the alert, live off the charts. Missed fills stay missed.
This note does not rewrite Week Ahead, September 14–18. Monday’s Market Prep had the overnight −1SD spend before that cash open. Monday’s After the Close locked soft cash versus Friday’s green open-to-close and sealed the Wednesday sequence. That handoff still holds.

What overnight already spent
Overnight bid worked the upper half of the new daily map. House daily map is anchored to the September 14 closes. NQ anchor 29,152.25; daily 1SD 28,815.79 – 29,488.71 (±336.46). Into this Hawaii window last near 29,439 with a high near 29,495.25 — briefly through daily +1SD on the session high, last still in the upper half. ES anchor 7,625.00; daily 1SD 7,556.75 – 7,693.25; last near 7,690 with a high near 7,701 — same upper-half / +1SD-tag pattern. That is spent geography on the easy upside of Monday’s reset field, not a free invitation to invent a second chase after the tag.
YM and RTY sit in the same upper half; gold is soft inside. YM last near 52,776 against daily +1SD 52,909. RTY last near 2,911.6 inside daily 1SD. GC last near 4,326 soft inside 4,291.44 – 4,412.36. Do not treat an NQ +1SD tag as if every contract already spent the same side.
Monday’s soft cash session is the prior close that reset this field. Friday’s cash session closed green open-to-close. Monday closed soft versus that prior close on the AP index prints. Those are two sentences. Overnight Globex bid does not rewrite either one until cash accepts.
Crude tested the upper half overnight, then cooled. CL daily map is anchored to Monday’s 101.39 settle. Daily 1SD 98.23 – 104.55 (±3.16). Overnight high near 104.21 — still inside daily 1SD — with last near 101.71. Monthly +1SD and quarterly +2SD stretch from the summer maps remain loud on the house publisher. Cooling from an overnight upper-half test is not a higher-timeframe reset.
Empire is done. Auctions are the live clocks. Headline 7.6 is modest growth, cooled from August 20.6. That print does not authorize inventing Wednesday’s statement. Front-end 6-week at 11:30 and duration 20-year at 1:00 are today’s supply sequence — do not average the coupon into the bill.
What Tuesday has to prove
Does Monday’s soft close hold as repair geography, or does cash reject the overnight upper-half bid. Week Ahead already framed Tuesday as positioning into a two-day FOMC. Overnight already worked the easy upside of the new map. Empire already answered modest. What is left is whether cash accepts that overnight geography through the auction windows — with size written against the leftover field, not against Monday’s unused mid.
One sequence. Retail and trade prices Wednesday morning are context for the afternoon statement — not a separate max-size invitation before 2:00 p.m. Do not spend Wednesday’s FOMC card on a Tuesday leftover after overnight already used the upper half and Empire already printed.
Keep the Friday / Monday split honest. Equities closed green on Friday’s cash open-to-close. Equities closed soft on Monday versus that prior close. Overnight Globex does not collapse those into one sentence.
What not to mix
Overnight tag ≠ cash accept. An NQ or ES +1SD print on Globex is map. Cash still has to vote at 9:30 ET.
Empire ≠ the vote. Modest regional factory growth is positioning into FOMC day one — not a license to invent hike/hold/cut.
Bill ≠ coupon. The 6-week and the 20-year are different clocks. Do not average duration risk into the front-end reopen.
Oil upper-half test ≠ higher-timeframe reset. Daily field can refill while monthly/quarterly stretch stays loud. Respect both maps.
Steal this / leave that
Steal this: Mark the overnight upper-half spend (ES/NQ highs through +1SD) before you trade the cash open. Treat Empire 7.6 as done positioning. Respect 11:30 / 1:00 auction clocks as separate. Keep FOMC size on Wednesday’s card. Write invalidation against what remains.
Leave that: Chasing Nasdaq higher after the +1SD tag as if the field were fresh. Treating overnight Globex repair as cash acceptance of Monday’s soft close. Inventing Wednesday’s decision on a positioning day. Averaging the 20-year into the 6-week.
Wednesday is the week. Tuesday is the map after Empire — auctions, leftover field, and cash vote. Respect what overnight already used — or stay flat.

| CL | 101.39 | 98.23 – 104.55 (±3.16) | 95.08 – 107.70 | Inside 1SD; H ~104.21 upper half. Monthly +1SD / quarterly +2SD stretch still loud |
Weekly (anchored 2026-09-11): NQ 1SD 28,531.56 – 30,242.44 (±855.44). ES 1SD 7,491.48 – 7,827.52 (±168.02). CL weekly 1SD 91.89 – 108.21.
Vol snapshot at run: VIX 16.86% | VXN 22.05% | GVZ 26.54% | OVX 59.46%. Oil vol is not compressed. Acceptance outside the remaining band matters more than noise inside what overnight already used.
Location, size, invalidation, and the condition that kills the idea still come first. Use the map; do not invent bands.
