Four red lacquer candles then one green — equities closed green, week still red.

After the Close Sept. 11: Twin Flip. Equities Closed Green. Week Still Red.

Twin flip: oil through daily −1SD off $102.48. Equities closed green (S&P +0.9%) and snapped the multi-day slide; week still finished red. Core CPI hot on the month. FOMC next week.

Friday, September 11, 2026

August CPI already printed — headline matched at +0.4% m/m and +3.4% y/y; core hot on the month at +0.3% m/m and +2.4% y/y. Crude spent through daily −1SD off Thursday’s WTI settle at 102.48. Equities closed green and snapped the multi-day slide, though the week still finished red. Wire oil cooled — WTI 100.05, Brent 104.61. FOMC is still next week. One relief session does not rewrite the oil/hike tape.

Morning Pulse was the day clock, not a forecast. Twin flipped: oil offered through the easy daily band while the indexes reclaimed and tagged the +1SD side. CPI kept the hike vote live under a matched headline. The job into the close was to mark what overnight and 8:30 already spent, write size against what was left, and leave next week’s FOMC on next week’s card.

This note does not rewrite Week Ahead, September 7–11. Friday’s Pulse had the print and the twin already on the board. That still holds into the weekend.

What cash had to live with

Oil gave the stretch back. House daily expected-move for CL was anchored to the September 10 close 102.48. Daily 1SD 99.22 – 105.74. Pulse already had last near 98.76 with a low near 98.54through daily −1SD, still inside daily 2SD (95.96). Session high near 104.46 printed first, then the sell. Reuters settle kept the cool-off on the wire without inventing a higher-timeframe reset: WTI $100.05 (−2.37%), Brent $104.61 (−2.81%). Weekly and monthly maps on Pulse still sat above +1SD. Cooling from a $102 settle is not a clean reclaim of that field.

Equities closed green. Cash indexes (ABC wire): S&P 7,656.98 (+0.9%), Dow 52,573.29 (+1%), Nasdaq 26,333.04 (+1%), Russell 2000 2,903.94 (+0.4%). Green reclaim after a four-day lose streak. Absolute futures

The Coupon Cleared. Oil Cleared 100. CPI Is Still Friday.

Tuesday reopened cash into supply and left the holiday book unfinished. Wednesday kept that frame, ran two auction clocks, and still had to live with Brent through 100. Equities finished lower again. The coupon was today’s duration print. CPI is still Friday.

After the Close Sept. 4: Hot Payrolls, Red Close — And One Desk Trade That Paid

August payrolls ran hot and the overnight flush into the PDC / CDO band held the open zone, but equities closed red and finished below Thursday. One desk trade turned a premium signal into a little over $8,000 at nearly 10× the risk.
